At Apeejay School, Pitampura, students, teachers and school’s staff celebrated Teachers’ Day in huge spirit and enthusiasm.The school’s Prefectorial council held a special assembly to make the day memorable for their teachers.Along with other students, Head Boy, Aditya Sharma and Head Girl, Anusha Sharma put in exceptional efforts.
The occasion became all the more distinct as the school’s Principal Ms. Veena Goel was felicitated with State Teachers’ Award 2022 by the Delhi Directorate of Education. She has been recognised for her invaluable contribution towards uplifting the standards of teaching in the academic year 2021-2022.
Thus, the big day in the school commenced with students and teachers praying to the Almighty. This was followed by a performance of self-composed poems and speeches by the students. The young learners also remembered Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of India, whose notable work in the field of education brought change to the lives of many.
A special message by Ms. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, Apeejay Education Society and Chancellor Apeejay Stya University was shared with the teachers at the event. Ms. Berlia highlighted the critical role of teachers in shaping the destiny of students and the nation. She further commended the teachers for taking challenges head on during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Highlighting how blended learning is the new reality of educational institutes, Ms. Berlia advised the educators to be mindful of these changes and re-skill themselves to fine-tune their abilities.
In the school, students shared snippets highlighting the teacher-student relationship. The students’ orchestra regaled the gathering with their musical presentation. All the teachers were felicitated with cards and flowers. A special game of musical chairs was enjoyed with a lot of competitive spirit by the teachers.
Sharing her vision for the school, Ms. Goel says, “We are working towards new projects, pedagogies and infrastructure. In the coming years, our teachers as well as school counsellors will work towards lessening the social or emotional isolation that the students may have faced during the pandemic.”
