Assessment is not only about marking answers. It shapes how teachers understand learning, how students approach concepts, and how classrooms respond to academic needs. With this larger purpose in focus, a two-day CBSE Capacity Building Workshop on Assessment and Evaluation was conducted at Apeejay School, Pitampura.
The workshop was held under the guidance of CBSE Resource Persons Dr Saurabh Malhotra and Ms Nishtha Kawatra. It brought participating teachers together for focused sessions on the latest CBSE guidelines related to assessment practices, competency-based learning, and question paper design.

The sessions helped teachers look at assessment as a more thoughtful classroom process. Rather than treating evaluation as a final step, the workshop encouraged educators to understand how well-planned questions can test clarity, application, reasoning, and conceptual depth.
A major part of the workshop focused on practical participation. Teachers engaged in collaborative activities and worked on creating blueprints of question papers in line with the framework prescribed by CBSE. This gave the participants a clearer sense of how assessment design can be made more structured, balanced, and purposeful.

The workshop also created space for teachers to discuss classroom challenges and understand how assessment strategies can be implemented more effectively. The emphasis remained on clarity, practical understanding, and classroom relevance.
For educators, capacity building is not a one-time exercise. It is part of a continuing process of reflection and professional growth. Workshops of this nature help teachers stay aligned with evolving academic expectations while also strengthening their own classroom practice.
The two-day programme reflected Apeejay School, Pitampura’s commitment to meaningful teacher development. It also highlighted the value of such CBSE-led initiatives in helping educators learn, adapt, and contribute more effectively to student learning in the years ahead.
