Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Jalandhar celebrates Teej with a vibrant ‘Teeyan Da Mela’

Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Model Town, Jalandhar, came alive with colour, music and festive cheer as it celebrated Teej through ‘Teeyan Da Mela’, a vibrant cultural programme dedicated to the rich traditions of Punjab. The celebration brought together young Apeejayites and their mothers, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere where generations connected to celebrate heritage and togetherness.

The auspicious occasion featured enthusiastic participation from the mothers of Apeejayites, who joined their children in a series of lively performances. Dressed in colourful traditional attire, the participants beautifully captured the festive spirit of Teej through giddha, bhangra, boliyan and a spirited ramp walk. Their energetic performances, accompanied by popular Punjabi songs, filled the school premises with infectious enthusiasm and transformed the celebration into a memorable cultural experience.

The event was not merely a festival celebration but also an opportunity to introduce young children to the traditions and customs integral to India’s cultural heritage. By participating alongside their mothers, the children experienced these traditions meaningfully and engagingly, making cultural learning a joyful experience rather than simply a classroom concept.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Rajesh Kumar Chandel, Principal, Apeejay School, Model Town, warmly welcomed the mothers and appreciated their enthusiastic participation. He acknowledged the remarkable energy and excitement with which the mothers joined the festivities, adding to the vibrancy of the occasion.

Ms Nidhi Ghai, Headmistress, Rhythms Kinderworld, along with the teaching staff, was also present during the celebration. The teachers played an important role in facilitating the programme and encouraging the children to participate confidently in the various cultural activities.
