Candidates preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2027 must complete their Aadhaar re-KYC through DigiLocker before filling out the application form for the January session, as advised by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The advisory aims to minimise discrepancies in identity verification and biometric authentication during subsequent stages of the examination process.
In its registration guidelines, the NTA asked applicants to log in using their own DigiLocker, JanParichay or e-Pramaan (MeriPehchaan) credentials. Using personal accounts is important to ensure that candidates’ identity details are verified correctly during the application and examination process.
The agency also advised candidates to complete the Aadhaar re-KYC process on DigiLocker so that their latest details can be fetched while filling out the application form. Applicants must additionally ensure that the name and date of birth entered in the form match the information on their Class 10 certificate or marksheet.
How to complete Aadhaar re-KYC through DigiLocker
Candidates can complete the re-KYC process by following these steps:
1. Log in to their DigiLocker account.
2. Navigate to the ‘Issued Documents’ section.
3. Locate the Aadhaar document and select the three-dot menu next to it.
4. Click the ‘Refresh’ option to initiate the re-KYC process.
5. Review the consent screen and allow Aadhaar authentication.
6. Enter the OTP received on the mobile number registered with Aadhaar to verify their identity.
7. Wait for the authentication process to be completed successfully.
Once Aadhaar re-KYC is complete, candidates can also refresh their other documents on DigiLocker to update their status.
