The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the List of Candidates (LOC) correction window for students appearing in the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations in 2027. Schools affiliated with the board can review and rectify errors in the submitted candidate details through the official website, cbse.gov.in, until November 7, 2026.

The correction facility is available only to school authorities. Students and parents cannot directly edit the information on the CBSE portal and must approach their respective schools if they identify any discrepancies.

According to the board’s latest circular, schools have been instructed to verify the information submitted in the LOC and make necessary corrections within the prescribed timeline. The details that can be rectified include the student’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, guardian’s name, date of birth and subjects offered.

CBSE asks parents to verify names and subject choices

CBSE has specifically advised parents to check their children’s personal details carefully. Students’ names should be entered in their expanded form rather than using abbreviations or short names. The board has also asked parents to ensure that the student’s surname is included, particularly if they intend to pursue higher education abroad, as several countries require surnames in official documents.

Parents must also verify that the date of birth matches the student’s official records. If a passport has been issued, its particulars should be checked against the information submitted to the board.

Subject selection is another important aspect of the verification process. CBSE has asked parents and schools to carefully check the subjects chosen by students in both Classes 10 and 12. The board has clarified that requests for subject changes will not be accepted after the correction window closes.

No further correction opportunity after November 7

The correction window is intended to ensure that accurate student information is available for the smooth conduct of the 2027 board examinations. Schools have been asked to inform parents and students about the facility and complete the verification process before the deadline.

If students or parents notice any errors, they should immediately contact the school administration and request the necessary corrections. The board has made it clear that no further opportunity to correct or modify the submitted LOC data will be provided after the scheduled window.

Students preparing for the 2027 board examinations are therefore advised to coordinate with their schools and ensure that all personal and academic details, particularly subject combinations and date of birth, are accurately recorded.
