Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, organised a comprehensive Continuous Professional Development (CPD) session on the National Curriculum Framework for the Foundational Stage (NCF-FS), reaffirming its commitment to equipping educators with the knowledge and skills required to deliver meaningful, future-ready education.

The session was conducted by esteemed resource person Ms. Nidhi Ghai who is also the school incharge of Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Jalandhar, who guided the teaching faculty through the core principles and vision of the National Curriculum Framework for the Foundational Stage, developed in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The workshop focused on creating engaging, inclusive and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young learners, while emphasising the importance of nurturing curiosity, creativity and critical thinking from the earliest years of education.

During the interactive session, teachers explored the significance of play-based, activity-based and experiential learning, which form the cornerstone of the NCF-FS. Ms. Ghai highlighted how these pedagogical approaches encourage active participation, joyful learning and holistic child development, enabling students to build strong conceptual understanding through exploration and real-life experiences.

A key focus of the workshop was Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), recognised as an essential building block for lifelong learning. Teachers gained valuable insights into effective classroom strategies for strengthening foundational skills while catering to the diverse learning needs of students. The session also addressed important aspects such as child-centred pedagogy, inclusive education, age-appropriate assessment practices, and the creation of supportive learning environments that foster confidence and participation among every child.

The workshop featured engaging discussions, collaborative activities and opportunities for reflection, allowing educators to exchange ideas, share classroom experiences and explore practical ways of implementing the NCF-FS framework in their teaching practices. Participants appreciated the relevance of the session in helping them align classroom instruction with the evolving educational landscape envisioned under NEP 2020.

The CPD session concluded on a positive note, leaving teachers inspired to embrace innovative teaching methodologies and learner-centric approaches in their classrooms. By investing in continuous professional learning, Apeejay School, Model Town continues to strengthen the capabilities of its educators and ensure that students receive a rich, inclusive and holistic educational experience that prepares them for future success.
