Awareness is the First Step Towards Safety’: Police Team Educates young learners

 “Awareness is the first step towards safety, and knowledge is the strongest shield against every threat.” Reinforcing this message, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, organised a comprehensive Police Awareness Programme to sensitise students about cyber safety, women’s safety and traffic awareness. The informative session aimed to equip young learners with practical knowledge to navigate everyday challenges responsibly and safely.

The programme was conducted by an experienced team from Charkhi Dadri Police Station, comprising ASI Rahul Phogat, ASI Smt. Anoop, EHC Smt. Babita, Mr Rakesh, Mr Sandeep and Mr Ravindra (SPO). Their interaction with the students provided valuable insights into safety practices, legal awareness and responsible citizenship.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Principal Dr Vineet Vasishtha, who extended his greetings to the visiting police officials and honoured them with mementoes as a gesture of appreciation for their dedicated service to society. Addressing the gathering, the Principal highlighted the importance of awareness initiatives in nurturing vigilant, responsible and law-abiding citizens.

A major focus of the session was cybersecurity, with the police officials drawing students’ attention to the growing threats associated with online fraud, phishing scams, fake social media accounts, cyberbullying and misuse of personal information. Students were advised to create strong and secure passwords, protect sensitive data, identify suspicious online behaviour and report cybercrimes without delay. The discussion encouraged students to adopt responsible digital habits and remain cautious while using online platforms.

The session also addressed women’s safety and legal awareness. The resource persons explained various rights and protections available under the law, along with emergency support services and measures for personal safety. Students were encouraged to remain alert and confident, seek help when necessary, and speak up against harassment or abuse.

The police team further highlighted the importance of traffic safety and road discipline. Students were reminded to follow traffic signals, wear helmets and seat belts, avoid mobile phone use while driving and observe road regulations. Practical examples and real-life situations helped make the discussion relatable and engaging.

An interactive question-and-answer session added further value to the programme. Students actively raised questions concerning cyber fraud, online gaming risks, road safety regulations and legal provisions related to women’s protection. The police officials addressed their queries patiently, helping students develop a clearer understanding of the issues.

Expressing his gratitude, Dr Vineet Vasishtha thanked the Charkhi Dadri Police team for their valuable guidance and continued efforts towards community awareness. “Safety begins with awareness, and education plays a vital role in creating responsible citizens. We are grateful to the Charkhi Dadri Police team for conducting such an insightful programme on cybersecurity, women’s safety, and traffic awareness.
