Graduating as the batch topper from the PGDM in Management and Mass Communication programme at Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC), Graceleen Kaur has already begun making her mark in the field of Public Relations. Recognised as the First Runner-Up in the PRCAI SABRE Awards 2026 – PR Aspirant/Student of the Year, she shares how practical learning, curiosity, and consistency shaped her journey and continue to inspire her professional aspirations. Tell us about your professional journey briefly and learning aspirations.
My journey in Public Relations began with a strong interest in strategic communication and storytelling. As a PGDM student at Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication and through my internship at Astrum, I have gained hands-on experience in media relations, content creation, and corporate communications. I aspire to build a career where I can create meaningful communication that drives impact and builds trust.
What was this award about? How did you feel receiving the award?
Being recognised as the First Runner-Up in the PRCAI SABRE Awards 2026 – PR Aspirant/Student of the Year is an incredible honour. It is a prestigious recognition that celebrates emerging talent in Public Relations. Receiving this award was both humbling and motivating, reaffirming my passion for the profession.
How does this inspire you?
This recognition inspires me to keep learning, embrace new challenges, and strive for excellence. It reinforces my belief that consistency, curiosity, and a willingness to grow are key to building a meaningful career in communications.
Where do you see yourself in the next one year?
Over the next year, I aim to strengthen my expertise in Corporate Communications and Public Relations, take on greater responsibilities, and continue learning from industry leaders while making meaningful contributions to the organisations I work with. 5. Any tips for aspirants planning to start their journey as media professionals? Stay curious, be open to feedback, and never stop learning. Build strong communication skills, seek practical experience through internships, and remember that consistency, professionalism, and integrity will always set you apart.
