To mark the Earth Day 2026, Apeejay Svran Global School, led a series of student-led activities that focused on environmental awareness and everyday responsibility. The initiative aimed to move beyond symbolic celebration and encourage practical action among students.
The day began with classroom discussions that helped students understand the growing concerns around climate change, resource depletion, and energy use. Teachers guided these conversations to connect global issues with daily habits, making the subject more immediate and personal for young learners.
Learning through participation
Students participated in activities designed to build awareness through action. They engaged in creative tasks, discussions, and small initiatives that highlighted the importance of conserving natural resources. The emphasis remained on understanding how simple choices can shape long-term environmental outcomes.
Students shared their thoughts during the sessions, reflecting on how small changes at home and school could reduce waste and save energy. These exchanges brought a sense of ownership to the conversation, rather than treating it as a distant concern.

A collective pledge for the future
A key moment of the day was the Earth Day pledge taken by students: “I pledge on Earth Day-2026, that, I will use electric and all kind of energy responsibly, without any wastage. Will conserve water and other natural resources, and promote clean, green, and renewable energy. I will adopt sustainable practices in my daily life and motivate others also to do the same, recognising that energy conservation and environmental protection are essential for the benefit of Mother Earth and future generations.”
As the day concluded, the message remained clear. Protecting the planet begins with consistent action, and young learners have an important role to play in shaping a more sustainable future.
