Young diplomats lead global conversations at Apeejay School, Kharghar

Recently, Apeejay School, Kharghar, successfully hosted its Model United Nations (MUN) Conference 2026 under the dynamic leadership of the school Principal, Dr Sonali V. Balwatkar. The two-day event brought together over 250 delegates from leading schools across Kharghar, including Emperyan School, Amity International School, Vibgyor High, Delhi Public School, Nerul, and several other esteemed institutions, creating a vibrant platform for diplomacy, global dialogue, and collaborative problem-solving.

The conference commenced with a grand opening ceremony, graced by Chief Guest Ms Ujjwala Golesar, Police Sub-Inspector (PSI). Addressing the young delegates, she encouraged them to develop leadership, confidence, empathy, and a strong sense of global responsibility, inspiring them to emerge as responsible citizens and future leaders.

Over the course of the conference, delegates participated in dynamic committee sessions that featured insightful debates, diplomatic negotiations, and evidence-based discussions on pressing international issues. Displaying exceptional research, critical thinking, and teamwork, participants demonstrated their ability to negotiate, build consensus, and propose practical solutions to complex global challenges.

The conference concluded with a dignified closing ceremony, where the Chief Guest, Mr Madan Darade, Deputy Commissioner, Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST), applauded the delegates for their confidence, diplomatic acumen, public speaking abilities, and thoughtful participation. He encouraged students to continue upholding the values of integrity, critical thinking, and responsible leadership in every sphere of life.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal congratulated the delegates, faculty members, and organising team for the successful execution of the conference. She highlighted that Model United Nations provides students with an invaluable opportunity to strengthen leadership, diplomacy, communication, and analytical skills while nurturing compassionate, globally aware individuals committed to building a more peaceful and sustainable world.
