Edited excerpts from the interview:

Please tell us more about your interests/hobbies.

I like to read books and create art. I am also passionate about playing the piano. My go-to is the Harry Potter novel series. I have been reading them for over a year now. Currently, I am glued to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Every time I open the novel, I feel transformed into a world of magic.

Why did you choose the topic: Jago Grahak Jago for Scholar-Journalist?

The theme was suggested to me by my teacher. After which I researched about it and understood what it means. In fact, while I was penning it down, I had a packet of chips next to me. I saw the FSSAI logo on it and then surfed the internet to find out more. Eventually, I penned down my experience.

Do you go to the market often?

Yes, I accompany my mother as well as go alone too. In doing so, I have made it a practice to check the date of manufacturing and expiry each time. I tag along my grandmother to the market sometimes. During our visits, she teaches about the ingredients and the quality of products to buy.

What is your understanding of the programme?

I feel that it is a great move. However, I am of the view that the ingredients on the packets we purchase must be written in a simpler and more understandable format. The font too can be a little bigger. Often, I have noticed my grandparents struggling to read it due to their old age. So, that’s something which can be taken into account.

Any writing tips for your classmates?

Take up topics that are relevant.

Your career goal?

I aspire to be a Software Engineer as Science piques my interest.
