Her daughter has been studying here right from the beginning. Today, she is in Class V. “I chose this school because I liked the range of activities offered here. The school focuses on the overall development of children rather than placing the entire burden on academics. The fact that it is close to my residence is an added advantage,” Preeti said, whose daughter, Prizleen, is studying here. In a candid interview, she talks about how her daughter enjoys all the school activities, among other things.
How comfortable is she at school?
She is very comfortable and always looks forward to going to school. Even when she feels slightly tired, she still wants to attend because she enjoys meeting her teachers and friends. She is also very fond of teaching. She often comes home and teaches me whatever she has learned in class. She tells me that she wants to become a teacher when she grows up.
What interests and activities does she enjoy?
She enjoys dancing, teaching, and several other activities. The school organises competitions regularly, including dance, singing, painting, drawing and poetry. Children are encouraged to participate, which helps them explore their interests.
How is she performing academically?
She is doing very well in her studies. She finds most subjects easy and completes her work independently. She also regularly participates in English Olympiads.
How do the teachers support her when she finds a topic difficult?
The teachers are always available to clear her doubts. Most of her concepts are explained thoroughly in the classroom, so she usually returns home with a clear understanding of what has been taught. She often explains the lesson to me first and then asks me to help her practise it. The teachers are very cooperative, and Prizleen is also responsible for asking questions whenever she does not understand something.
How would you describe the coordination between parents and teachers?
The parent-teacher coordination is good. I receive feedback from her teachers whenever required, and they keep me informed about her progress.
What do you appreciate most about the school?
I appreciate the school’s focus on helping children become all-rounders. I never wanted my children to feel burdened by studies or become limited to books. I wanted them to participate in different activities while also performing well academically.
Prizleen has learnt swimming and has also participated at the state level. Her father played at the national level, so sports have always been encouraged in our family. The school provides children with opportunities to explore academics, sports and creative activities. That is the biggest advantage for me.
Your son is also studying here…
He is in the Mahavir Marg branch and in Class X. In the senior classes, students also need to take responsibility for their studies. However, the teachers continue to guide and support them. From my experience, the Tanda Road branch gives individual attention to both children and parents. The teachers remain focused on every child. This personal attention is one of the main reasons I chose the school.
