The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the answer key for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2026 session shortly. As per an official announcement issued on August 10, the agency is likely to publish the provisional answer key, candidates’ response sheets and question papers on its official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in, this week.
The UGC NET June 2026 exam was conducted on June 22, 23, 24, 25, 29 and 30, 2026. The NTA also held a retest on July 5 for candidates affected by the earlier exam schedule.
Once the provisional answer key is released, candidates will be allowed to examine their responses and raise objections against questions or answers they believe contain discrepancies. Candidates submitting challenges will have to provide a valid justification along with supporting evidence.
The agency has prescribed a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 200 for each answer key challenge. Candidates should ensure that objections are submitted within the stipulated objection window through the prescribed online link.
NTA has clarified that only challenges submitted through the designated objection window after payment of the applicable fee will be considered. Objections submitted without proper justification or supporting evidence, after the deadline, or through any other mode will not be accepted for review.
After examining the challenges, NTA will finalise the answer key based on the recommendations of subject experts. The final answer key will subsequently be used in the preparation of the UGC NET results.
The UGC NET examination determines the eligibility of Indian nationals for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as an Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD programmes in universities and colleges across the country.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official NTA website for the answer key release, objection dates and further updates.
