NTA Opens CSIR UGC-NET December 2026 Applications; Late Fee Window Till November 9

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced the application process for the Joint CSIR UGC-NET December 2026 examination. Eligible candidates can register online through the official website, csirnet.nta.ac.in.

Candidates must complete their registration and pay the examination fee by November 5, 2026, up to 11.50 pm. Those who miss the deadline can submit their applications until November 9, 2026, by paying an additional late fee of ₹500.

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (CSIR UGC-NET) is conducted twice a year. The examination determines candidates’ eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship/Assistant Professorship positions in Indian universities and colleges.

According to the announced schedule, the December 2026 examination will take place on December 19, 22 and 27. It will be conducted in two shifts: 9 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 6 pm.

How to Apply for CSIR UGC-NET December 2026

Candidates can follow these steps to complete their applications:

  1. Visit the official website, csirnet.nta.ac.in.
  2. Select the link for the online application for Joint CSIR UGC-NET December 2026.
  3. Register as a new user and log in using the generated credentials.
  4. Complete the application form and upload the required documents.
  5. Pay the applicable examination fee online.
  6. Submit the form and download a copy for future reference.

The NTA will open the application correction window from November 10 to 12, 2026, allowing candidates to make permitted changes to their submitted forms.

The agency has also clarified that candidates must submit only one application. Multiple applications are prohibited, and candidates found submitting more than one form may face disqualification at any stage of the examination process.

Candidates are advised to review the application details carefully and complete the process within the prescribed deadlines.
