BeyondBooks: ‘This scholarship is a reminder that I should remain humble’

He is studying in Class IX at Apeejay School, Kharghar. He enjoys Mathematics and Science because they help him think logically and solve problems. Apart from academics, he likes reading books, playing Chess and Badminton, and learning new things. His short-term goal is to perform well in his Boards and competitive exams, as he plans to pursue engineering.

Meet Aditya Bhushan Vyavahare, who recently received the Maharashtra State Presecondary Scholarship Exam conducted by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination, Pune, and ranked sixth in Raigad district

In an impromptu interview, he talks about how his mother has been his biggest source of inspiration, among other things.

What changes did you make to stay focused on your studies?

During my scholarship preparation, I reduced the time I spent watching TV and using my mobile phone. I followed a daily timetable, revised regularly, and solved many practice papers. Occasionally I missed outings with friends, but I knew these small sacrifices would help me achieve my goal.

Was there a particular teacher, family member, or experience that inspired you to aim higher?

My mother has been my biggest source of inspiration. She has always encouraged me to work hard, stay disciplined, and never give up, even when things became difficult. Her constant support and belief in me motivated me to aim higher every day.

I am also grateful to my teachers. They not only taught me the subjects but also encouraged me to think deeply, ask questions, and keep improving. They also motivated me by appreciating my efforts and guiding me whenever I faced difficulties.

What part of your academic journey are you most proud of, apart from receiving the scholarship?

I am proud that I developed the habit of studying regularly instead of only before examinations. I also improved my problem-solving skills and became more confident in difficult subjects. This journey taught me that consistency and discipline are more important than studying for long hours occasionally.

How has receiving the scholarship changed the way you look at your future?

Receiving this scholarship has increased my confidence. It has shown me that hard work gives results. It also motivates me to set bigger goals and continue performing well in my studies. I now feel more responsible for maintaining this standard and making my parents and teachers proud.

What would you like to use the scholarship amount for in the coming academic year?

I would like to use the scholarship for my education. I plan to buy good reference books, enrol in learning programmes if needed, and purchase educational resources that will help me prepare for future competitive examinations.

Has this achievement increased your sense of responsibility towards your studies?

Receiving this scholarship has shown me that hard work and dedication are recognised, and it has motivated me to maintain the same level of commitment in the future. It has also made me realise that my achievements can inspire others. I would like to help my classmates whenever I can. I believe that true success is not only about achieving personal goals but also about supporting and motivating others to achieve theirs.
