A Journey of Growth and Confidence

When Drishti Chandhok looks back at her journey at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram, she sees much more than an academic experience.

For her, it has been a journey of gaining knowledge, building confidence, discovering her capabilities, and becoming a better version of herself. She mentioned, “Over time, I have realised that university is not simply about earning a degree; it is about discovering who you are and preparing yourself for what lies ahead.”

“When I first began this journey, I was still figuring out my strengths and abilities. Today, I feel much more confident, independent and open to new experiences.”

The Apeejay student emphasises that every academic challenge, interaction and opportunity has contributed to her personal and professional growth. Stepping into unfamiliar situations taught her  to trust herself and approach challenges with a more positive mindset.

Learning Beyond the Textbooks

“One of the aspects I value most about my university experience is the balance between classroom learning and practical exposure,” she said. She further mentioned that the curriculum has allowed her to understand concepts while also encouraging Drishti to think about how they could be applied in real-world situations.

“The curriculum provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical exposure. It has helped me develop technical skills, critical thinking, and a professional approach.”

This combination has made learning more meaningful for me. Rather than simply memorising concepts, she has learned to analyse situations, think critically and approach problems with greater clarity. These skills have also helped Drishti develop a professional outlook that I know will be valuable as I progress in the pharmaceutical field.

Finding Direction for My Career

Apeejay Stya University has played an important role in helping me understand my interests and work towards my professional aspirations. The academic environment, guidance and opportunities provided by the university have encouraged me to explore different possibilities within the pharmaceutical field.

“Apeejay Stya University has provided me with the right academic environment, guidance, and opportunities to explore my interests and work towards my career goals in the pharmaceutical field.”

The journey has taught me that career development is not always about having all the answers from the beginning. Sometimes, it is about exploring, learning and gradually gaining clarity about where you want to go.

Stepping Beyond My Comfort Zone

Perhaps one of the most important lessons I have learned is the value of stepping outside my comfort zone. Every new challenge initially brought some uncertainty, but facing those situations helped me discover strengths I did not know I possessed.

“It helped me realise that I can adapt to new situations, take on challenges, and achieve things I once thought were beyond my comfort zone.”

These experiences have made her more adaptable and willing to embrace opportunities rather than hesitate because something feels unfamiliar.

A Message to Future Students

If there is one piece of advice I would share with students beginning their university journey, it would be simple: “Make the most of every opportunity, participate actively, and don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone.”

She further added, “University gives you a valuable space to learn, experiment, make mistakes and grow. The experiences you gain during these years can influence not only your career but also the person you become.”

For Drishti, time at Apeejay Stya University has been a journey of transformation—one that has strengthened her knowledge, confidence and independence while preparing her to move towards her aspirations with greater purpose.
