They may be young but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have dreams and aspirations. Though only in LKG, these toddlers know the importance of studies in their lives but also believe that playing, dancing, and drawing are what add fun to learning new things. Recognising a student’s strengths, whether they lie in academic pursuits or extracurricular activities, plays a vital role in fostering their self-assurance and motivation.

Encouragement from teachers, mentors, and peers is essential for motivating students to develop their skills and pursue their interests. Providing tailored feedback that acknowledges the unique abilities of each student helps nurture their potential. This individualized approach ensures that every student feels valued and motivated to reach their full potential.

Meet three such students – Aadhya Kapoor, Bhavin Gupta, and Taksh Chopra – of Apeejay School, Tanda Road who have recently been promoted to LKG. From learning new things to who their role model is, these young ‘uns talk about their aspirations and how good the teachers are here.

Aadhya, a five-year-old, loves going to school because besides learning, they do a lot of activities like dancing, playing with friends and going to adventure parks to learn about new things. A typical day for her starts early. “I get ready for school, eat breakfast, pray, and go to school where we learn different things. Once I am back at home, I eat something and sit down to do any work that the teacher has given me. I also revise what is taught in the class. I also go out and play, come back, have dinner and go to bed early,” she said and added that her mother is her ideal who helps her with her studies.

Her favourite activities include dancing, colouring and singing bhajans. “I love to read books about Lord Krishna and his antics. What I like about him is that even though he is naughty his love for his mother is paramount like I have for my mother. He is also very strong since he was able to lift an entire mountain!” Aadhya said.

And who are her favourite teachers? The answer comes promptly — all. “They help us to do different activities and teach us in a fun way that helps us to remember everything that is taught in the class. They never scold us, instead, they love us and take care of us like my mother does when I am at home,” she added.

Taksh, on the other hand, says that his ideal is his father and he wants to be like him – strong, intelligent, and hardworking. “My mother helps me to study and do any homework that the teachers give me. I also revise what is taught in the class. This helps me remember everything when the teachers ask questions. My mother and I prepare for any school activity that the school organises from time to time,” he said, who loves to dance and play like Aadhya.

His favourite book is The Legend of Hanuman because he is strong, powerful, and intelligent. “He is also very brave because he can overpower demons,” Taksh shared and added that Priyanka ma’am and Pallavi ma’am are his favourites. “We play with them and also learn many things from them,” he said.

Bhavin agrees with Taksh and says that he loves all his teachers especially, Gagan ma’am. Priyanka ma’am, Pallavi ma’am, and Shika ma’am to name a few. “They love me and I love them. They also help me learn new things, they help me with spellings and even teach us to dance steps,” the four-year-old shared.

The best thing he likes about his school is how he loves to play on the ground with his friends, learning, and the stories the teachers narrate. “My favourite subjects are Hindi, English, and Math. This is because I have learnt so many different things like A, B, C… I also know how to write from 1 to 100 as it makes my mind sharp,” Bhavin said and loves watching Adipurush as it has all my favourite people – Ramji, Sitaji, Hanumanji and even Ravan. I also pray to God every day,” Bhavin said signing off.
