In every new beginning lies the opportunity to transform dreams into reality, and challenges into triumphs. Such was the spirit that infused the first day of the new session (2024-25) in the Primary Department at Apeejay School, Noida. The vibrant atmosphere of excitement and camaraderie set the stage for a year of growth and learning. The day commenced with a series of interactive welcome activities carefully crafted to foster a sense of belonging and ignite the spark of creativity among the students.

The teachers, with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm, extended a heartfelt welcome, setting a positive tone for the entire session. Brief introductions from the teachers exuded excitement about the upcoming learning journey, reassuring the students that they were embarking on an adventure filled with opportunities for growth and discovery.

In class I, the students immersed themselves in a creative badge-making activity, adorning their designs with cheerful smileys. As they proudly showcased their unique creations, a palpable sense of joy and accomplishment filled the room. Beyond just a creative outlet, this activity encouraged self-expression and instilled a sense of pride in their individual masterpieces.

Meanwhile, in class II, young minds delved into the world of paper craft, enhancing drawings of faces with intricate hair extensions made from origami paper strips and crepe paper using the quilling technique. This hands-on activity not only honed their fine sensory motor skills but also provided them with immense enjoyment and satisfaction.

Class III students embarked on a journey of self-reflection, tracing their palms on A4 sheets and attributing one quality they believed they possessed. This introspective exercise prompted deep contemplation as they pondered their strengths and uniqueness, laying the foundation for personal growth and self-awareness.

In class IV, a ‘Bird Making’ activity served as a delightful icebreaker, introducing newcomers and fostering a sense of belonging among all students. The enthusiastic participation from both new and existing students showcased the success of this bonding activity, as friendships began to blossom amidst feathers and laughter.

Not to be outdone, the students of class V engaged in a lively ‘A Ball About Me’ activity, using a cut-out of a ball as a canvas to express their thoughts, experiences, interests, and feelings. This creative endeavour not only encouraged self-expression but also fostered a deeper understanding of themselves and their peers, contributing to a positive start to their new class.

As the welcome activities drew to a close, a discernible sense of excitement filled the air.
