Patience, positive reinforcement, and clear communication are essential for building trust and fostering development at this early stage. “This school prioritises creating a safe and nurturing environment, establishing routines, and using a variety of engaging activities to facilitate learning through play,” Chander Prakash whose daughter Meher studies in the nursery at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, said.

Excerpts from the interview

Why did you choose Apeejay for your daughter?
There are a limited number of schools in Charkhi Dadri and the best of the best in my city is Apeejay School here. Also, the brand – Apeejay Education – has had a long legacy of over five decades. Like any other parent, I too want my daughter to go to the best school. Moreover, my wife is a pass out of Apeejay and it adds an extra wonderful feeling to have my child admitted to a school same as her mother’s.

Is Meher comfortable going to school?
She is only three years old; there will be separation anxiety and she will take some time to adjust to the routine and school environment. However, the good part is that she is settling down and the teachers have been extremely helpful is mkaing her feel comfortable.

How are the teachers here?
Teachers here are quite sensitive to the needs and wants of tiny tots. I have personally seen how the staff is making her feel comfortable and homely so that she learns to settle better. She is definitely getting used to the idea of sitting in classroom and studying and interacting with other students.

Do you feel that school is the second home for a child?
Yes. We want our child to start enjoying the school journey soon. It’s just a matter of time since she is quite young. Once she gets regular, I am sure her experience at school will be more satisfying and happy.

What all has she learned at school so far?
She is mostly involved in playful activities like dance, poem recitation, and clay modelling there. She also loves to spend time with connect the dots books and has learnt how to form different images using pencil.

How is the school infrastructure and facilities?
Both infrastructure and facilities are good here when we compare other schools in the same city. The furniture in the classroom are at the perfect height for the toddlers; the general environment is conducive with respect to safety and security of children.

What is your dream for your child?
Right now she is too young so we are at present, basking in the happiness of raising her beautifully. Once she grows up, we will figure out the best for her.
