The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently communicated with all affiliated schools, announcing the availability of online courses for classes XI and XII through the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) on the SWAYAM platform. This initiative aims to facilitate access to quality education resources for students amidst the ongoing transition towards virtual learning.

According to the notification, enrollment for these courses is currently open and will remain so until September 1, 2024. The NCERT is offering a range of online courses for classes XI and XII across various subjects through the SWAYAM platform, which will be accessible through multiple cycles.

In its 13th cycle, NCERT is providing 28 online courses covering 11 subjects, including Accountancy, Business Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, English, and Sociology. These courses are scheduled to be available from April 22 to September 30, 2024.

To register for these NCERT online courses on the SWAYAM platform, interested individuals can visit the official website at swayam.gov.in. New users will need to complete a registration process and verify their accounts. Afterward, they can access the desired course by clicking on the NCERT course link and enroll for free.

The curriculum includes engaging content, activities, and a final assessment that participants must complete to obtain certification.

The primary goal of these online courses is to enhance students’ learning experiences in a virtual environment. Furthermore, educators and parents are encouraged to participate in these courses to gain insights into effective teaching methodologies and subject matter.

SWAYAM, an initiative launched by the Ministry of Education, focuses on providing Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) to expand learning opportunities and promote continuous education in a digital age. This collaborative effort between CBSE and NCERT underscores a commitment to accessible and inclusive education for students and educators across India.
