Jalandhar college celebrates & honours excellent performance of students 

Apeejay College of Fine Arts in Jalandhar hosts 49th Annual Prize Distribution Function

Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA) in Jalandhar recently celebrated its 49th Annual Prize Distribution Function with great fervour and enthusiasm, recognising the outstanding achievements of students in academics, sports, and cultural activities. The event, held to honour the dedication and hard work of students, showcased the institute’s commitment to nurturing talent and excellence.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mrs. Balvinder Kaur, IRS, Commissioner of Income Tax, CBDT, Govt. of India. She was warmly welcomed by Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of ACFA, who played a pivotal role in organising the event. Other distinguished guests were Mr. Nirmal Mahajan, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Mrs. Sangeeta Nistandra, and Mr. A.K. Sharma, who graced the occasion with their presence.

Dr. Dhingra commenced the event by presenting the Annual Report of the session 2023-24, highlighting the institute’s achievements and accolades. She paid tribute to the visionary Founder Chairman, Late Dr. Stya Paul Ji, and expressed her gratitude to  Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Education and Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, for her unwavering support. Dr. Dhingra shared the remarkable academic results, with 44 students securing 1st position, 36 students achieving 2nd position, and 4 students clinching the 3rd position in University examinations conducted by GNDU, Amritsar.

The event also celebrated the achievements of students in co-curricular activities, with 69 students honoured for their exceptional performances in Zonal and Inter Zonal Youth festivals, as well as at the North Zone and National levels. Additionally, 36 students were recognized for their outstanding contributions to various fields, while 24 students were lauded for their achievements in sports.

Highlighting the cultural essence of the occasion, students who had won at the national level in Youth Festivals showcased their talents, captivating the audience with Indian Classical Dance, group singing, and group dance performances.

Mrs. Balvinder Kaur commended ACFA for its efforts in promoting and preserving culture and tradition. She urged the students to contribute positively to society while excelling in their personal endeavours. Dr. Dhingra presented mementos to Mrs. Balvinder Kaur and other esteemed guests, acknowledging their support and encouragement.

The successful execution of the event was attributed to the efforts of the organising team, including Dr. Arun Mishra, Dr. Amita Mishra, Ms. Meera Aggarwal, and Dr. Roopali Sood, whose dedication ensured the event’s grand success.
