Further extending warm greetings, Dr. Supreet Talwar, Head of Department of Economics said, “I believe that the purpose of higher education is to attain knowledge and sufficient skill sets to build up a career for oneself. In this orientation program, I tried to sensitise the first year students about various career opportunities available after completing their B.Sc. Economics and BA with Economics course. Moreover, it is insufficient to complete graduation with a prescribed syllabus. It must be complemented with the latest skills required by the industry. They were informed about various MOOC courses available at Swayam Portal.”

She also added, “Besides, a student must be good at other life skills and transferable skills. ACFA provides ample opportunities for curriculum as well as co-curricular excellence to its students.”

On the other side, Ms. Meera from the Department of Mathematics discussed with the students about NPTEL courses and digital e-portals of education. She also mentioned the employment scope in the field of Mathematics and Statistics.

One of the new students, Anmol said, “The purpose of this Induction program was to introduce us to the career opportunities after pursuing Mathematics and Economics in college. I personally found this session fruitful as it gave me clarity about so many career options and which route to take.”

Similarly, Mr. Ankit Goel and Ms. Rachita Jain from the Department of Multimedia held an in-depth discussion on the different subjects and topics like 2D and 3D animation, photography, video editing, sound design, visual and special effects, which they will be learning in their respective courses.  Also, they shared a glimpse on college placement and the importance of creating a holistic portfolio.
