Under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the HRD Cell of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, organised a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme “E-Commerce Technology Trends with AI in 2026” . The session aimed to familiarise faculty members with emerging technological advancements in e-commerce and the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in reshaping business landscapes and educational practices.

The programme brought together faculty members in an engaging academic setting where discussions revolved around the evolving role of AI in digital commerce and business innovation. The session served as a valuable platform for educators to understand how rapidly changing technologies can be meaningfully integrated into classroom teaching and learning.

The keynote session was conducted by Ms. Himani Sehgal, Assistant Professor, School of Engineering & Technology (SET), AIMETC, who served as the resource person for the programme. During her insightful presentation, Ms. Sehgal elaborated on the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence in modern e-commerce ecosystems. She explained how AI has emerged as a powerful tool in transforming customer experiences, optimising supply chain mechanisms, and strengthening predictive analytics that help businesses anticipate consumer needs and market trends.

Highlighting AI’s relevance in the business domain, Ms. Sehgal introduced faculty members to several innovative AI-powered tools increasingly adopted across industries. She provided practical demonstrations and insights into applications such as Brandmark.io, Whisper AI, Jasper, Canva AI, and other digital platforms that assist in content creation, branding, communication, and workflow efficiency. The session encouraged participants to explore how these tools could be utilised for both academic and professional purposes.

The Faculty Development Programme also featured an interactive and thought-provoking question-and-answer session, where faculty members actively engaged in meaningful discussions on the future of AI and its relevance in education and commerce. Participants raised questions related to practical implementation, ethical considerations, and integrating AI tools into teaching methodologies.

Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director, AIMETC, actively participated in the deliberations and guided faculty members on the effective incorporation of AI-enabled tools into classroom pedagogy. He emphasised the importance of staying updated with technological trends to ensure students are equipped with future-ready knowledge and practical competencies.

The programme concluded on an encouraging note with Dr. Bagga expressing heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Himani Sehgal for conducting an informative, practical, and forward-looking session. He also lauded the dedicated efforts of the HRD Cell, Convener Dr. Anu Sahi, and Faculty Coordinator Ms. Preet Kamal Kaur for the smooth planning and successful execution of the programme.

The FDP proved to be an enriching academic initiative, strengthening faculty understanding of emerging AI-driven trends in e-commerce and their relevance to higher education.
