The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has commenced the revaluation and verification process for Class 12 board examination results 2026, following widespread concerns raised by students regarding the evaluation and answer sheet review mechanism.
According to official data, nearly four lakh students applied to obtain copies of their evaluated answer books after the declaration of the Class 12 results. The board has already made around 8.98 lakh scanned answer sheets available online and received more than 11.31 lakh applications for access to answer scripts.
To enhance transparency and streamline post-result services, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the introduction of CBSE’s first digital revaluation system for Class 12 examinations.
Students seeking verification of marks, re-evaluation, or both can apply through the CBSE website by accessing the ‘Post Result Services’ or ‘Verification & Re-evaluation’ section. Applicants must log in using their roll number and admit card ID. Only those students who have already obtained scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets are eligible to proceed with verification or re-evaluation requests.
Under the revised fee structure, students are required to pay Rs 100 per subject to obtain scanned copies of their answer sheets and Rs 100 per subject for verification of their marks. For re-evaluation, a fee of Rs 25 per question will be charged. CBSE has also announced that re-evaluation fees will be refunded if a student’s marks increase following the review.
The Board has clarified that re-evaluation requests can only be submitted for subjects for which scanned answer sheets have been obtained. There is no restriction on the number of questions that can be submitted for re-evaluation, subject to payment of the prescribed fee. However, only the selected questions will be reassessed, and the board retains the authority to increase, decrease, or maintain the awarded marks after review.
Students and parents are advised to complete the application process within the stipulated timeline announced by CBSE.
