Puneet Tomar, whose son Kiansh was enrolled in Apeejay School, Kharghar, this year, has already recommended the school to some of his friends. “They were looking for a good school for their kids and I told them how good Apeejay was!” he says. In an interview, Tomar, who is working as an inspector with the GST Department, talks about how his son’s nursery teacher is helping his overall growth. Edited excerpts:

What made you choose Apeejay Kharghar for Kiansh?

The school was recommended by one of my acquaintances, who gave me very good feedback about its academic standards and faculty. So, I went ahead and contacted Apeejay. The experience has been great so far.

Was the admission process smooth? How did you prepare your son for the interview?

I had a positive interaction with the school staff, who addressed all my queries. They made my son feel very comfortable which ensured a smooth interview process. At Apeejay, they assess the overall personality of a child during an interview, especially if he or she is able to interact with the teacher. In the case of our son, the teacher asked him to identify some colours. He was also shown some photos and asked what he understood by looking at them.

What do you have to say about the quality of teachers at Apeejay?

Kiansh’s class teacher Sudeshna ma’am is experienced and sincere. She puts in all the effort to groom children well. She keeps the classes very interactive to engage students. And there is a visible impact of this on my son. Thanks to the teacher, my son has settled in easily. He likes to interact with his teacher and has also made some friends.

Is Kiansh participating in class activities?

A child’s progress depends a lot on the class teacher. Sudeshna ma’am has been very supportive and encouraging toward Kiansh. She pushes him to participate in various co-curricular activities. So far, he has participated in three or four competitions including Hindi poetry, science experiment, etc, and has won the third position in two of them.

Do teachers stay in touch with parents?

Kiansh’s teacher keeps in touch with all the parents and gives regular updates, whether it is about a child’s behaviour in class or tracking their overall growth.  We are quite satisfied with Apeejay.
