‘Getting selected in reputed companies has boosted my confidence’ 

Mayank Mehan, a student from the 2024–2026 batch at Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar has had a memorable journey marked by academics, sports, and achievements. A passionate powerlifter, he won two gold medals and the Strongman title consecutively in intercollege competitions, represented nationally in Mangalore, secured a Top 5 position in Bench Press Nationals, and recently received placement offers as Relationship Manager at Muthoot Fincorp and SBI Mutual Fund. How do you feel receiving the placement offer? What position have you been offered?

Receiving the placement offers was a proud and exciting moment for me. It felt rewarding because all the hard work and consistency finally paid off.I have been offered the position of Relationship Manager in both Muthoot Fincorp and SBI Mutual Fund. Getting selected in reputed companies has boosted my confidence and motivated me to work even harder in my professional career.

How did you prepare for your placements?

Honestly, I did not follow any special preparation strategy. I believed in being real and confident in front of the interviewers. Instead of memorising answers, I focused on expressing my genuine personality, communication skills, and confidence.I think staying calm, speaking honestly, and showing a positive attitude helped me during the interviews.

How did your teachers at Apeejay help you during the placement process?

The teachers at Apeejay were very supportive throughout the placement process. They guided us in improving communication skills, personality development, and interview confidence.They constantly motivated us, shared important career advice, and helped us understand how to present ourselves professionally during interviews. Their encouragement played a big role in helping me achieve these opportunities.

Your future aspirations

My future aspiration is to build a successful career in the finance and corporate sector while continuously improving my skills and knowledge.At the same time, I also want to continue my journey in powerlifting and represent at higher national and international levels in the future.I want to maintain a balance between my professional career and sports and make my family and institution proud.
