Choosing the Right Institution

Ashmit’s decision to join Apeejay Stya University was guided by its strong reputation and a personal recommendation from his sister, who is also an alumna of the university. This familiarity gave him confidence in his choice. Sharing his experience, he highlights the supportive academic environment, saying, “Teachers are very nice and supportive,” which has played a key role in helping him adapt and grow.

Balancing Academics with Passion

Beyond academics, Ashmit strongly believes in exploring his passions. Music holds a special place in his life. He has received music training in Jalandhar and actively participated in the All India Youth Festival at the zonal level, where his group secured first position. Currently, he is also a part of a local band. For him, music is not just a hobby but a creative outlet that keeps him motivated and balanced.

A Practical Approach to Learning

Ashmit prefers a focused and practical study routine. “I study in college and learn subjects in the library. You complete the syllabus in college,” he shares, emphasising consistency and effective use of campus resources. This disciplined approach helps him stay on track academically while leaving room for extracurricular activities.

Future Goals and Advice

Looking ahead, Ashmit aims to work in an IT company specialising in cybersecurity. He is keen on strengthening his technical skills and gaining hands-on experience. He advises aspiring students to learn tools like Kali Linux, build a foundation in programming languages such as C, and explore various technologies in the field. “You should learn how to do penetration testing and also pick one side and master it—it can be defence or offence,” he suggests.

Ashmit’s journey reflects a balanced blend of technical ambition and creative passion, showing how pursuing diverse interests can lead to holistic growth.
