Ashish Raiker is the General Manager at Jio Platform Ltd.  His daughters, Ananya Raiker and Aditi Raiker, are class 5 and 8 students respectively at Apeejay School, Kharghar. In a brief interview, Raiker mentions how impressed he is with the smooth functioning of the online classes at the school as well as tells how happy his daughters are ever since the physical classes resumed. Edited excerpts:

Why did you choose Apeejay Kharghar over other schools for the admission of both your daughters?

I lived in Jamnagar for a long time. When I shifted to Navi Mumbai, I enquired about good schools in the area. My preference, however, was to get a good school in Kharghar and it was then that I came across Apeejay Kharghar. I visited the school myself and also spoke to some of my friends, who had an experience with this school. After getting numerous positive feedback from my friends  and reading the online reviews about the school, we chose Apeejay Kharghar for the admission of both our daughters.

The school has great infrastructure. It conducts a plethora of extra-curricular activities for the all-round development of the students. That is commendable!

Please tell us a bit about Ananya and Aditi and take us through their progress at school?

Aditi loves Science. She enjoys understanding new science concepts daily. She is also learning Indian classical music. The school is providing her with many opportunities to get involved in the musical activities they conduct throughout the academic year. She is also a part of the school’s musical group. And because of this, her confidence level has increased manifold. Now she feels extremely confident when singing in front of our relatives or friends who visit us.

Ananya is very young as of now. She loves to study Math. Besides that, she is also very good at art and loves to draw and paint. She enjoys that a lot.

What is the best thing about Apeejay Kharghar?

The teachers are very friendly with the students. The teaching methodology here is wonderful. It’s not just about teaching from the books. The teachers here get the students involved in various activities and that helps them to understand concepts very well. Students are also given mini projects which they can handle themselves. It’s all about experiential learning at Apeejay Kharghar.

Clearly, the teachers are engaging well with the students. What would you say?

Yes, certainly. I would like to thank all the teachers in the school for their continuous efforts for the betterment of all students.

How has the experience of the online classes been for both the children?

I would like to compliment the school specifically for this. From the very beginning, the online classes functioned very smoothly. It was a completely new set up for all students, teachers and parents alike. But the way in which the teachers carried on the classes was spectacular. We never faced any difficulties. Be it online classes, assignments or exams, we never faced any problem.

Now that the school has reopened, are both the children happy to be back?

They are very happy and more excited actually to meet their teachers and friends in person.
