Mrs. Divya Prakash is a software engineer with Cadence Design System and her husband Mr. Om Prakash works as General Manager with Sun Mark Company. They are proud parents of twins-daughters Aarya Om and Aadya Om, class 2 students at Apeejay School, Noida. In a brief interview, Mrs. Prakash discusses the progress of her daughters and how Apeejay Noida fits into her vision of a good school. Edited excerpts:

What made you choose Apeejay School, Noida, ahead of other schools for Aarya and Aadya’s admission?
I liked the infrastructure of the school. Apeejay Noida has a big campus with facilities for sports and co-curricular activities. I think that gave me the confidence to enroll my daughters there. Also, especially from the point of view of academics, I had heard some very good reviews about the school.

Please tell us a bit about your daughters and take us through their progress at school?
Well, they enjoy playing, painting and dancing among other activities. Apart from that, they are good in studies as well. I don’t put a lot of pressure on them for studies. They study on their own and are performing well at school. Aarya likes drawing more as a hobby while Aadya prefers playing with dolls and dancing more. Among their subjects at school, both of them like Hindi and Maths.

Are the teachers engaging well with the students?
Yes, they are certainly engaging well. In the online classes, the engagement is not as intense akin to a physical class but despite the odds, the teachers still try their level-best to engage with each and every child , so that the child feels comfortable to grasp the concept and feels comfortable to ask questions. Both my daughters are very fond of their class teachers Ms. Ruchi and Ms Prachi respectively. They are also fond of the dance teacher at school.

What is the best thing about the school?
Apeejay Noida has very simple values as an institution. I am not a parent who forces development ideas upon the school. It is the school that focuses on holistic learning, with a balance between academics, sports and co-curricular activities. The school does not put much pressure on students for academic success. The school goes easy on students and the parents as well and I find that the best.

How has the experience of the online classes been for Aarya and Aadya?
It was a bit difficult initially but now my daughters can manage online classes on their own. As parents, we get to see what our children are studying and how the teachers are teaching them. So that is great.
