‘The skills, patience and technique of the teachers make me wish to keep Aarush in Apeejay Noida for many more years’
Ms Payal Yadav, a homemaker and mother of Apeejay Noida student Aarush Yadav, thanks the teachers for his increasing confidence levels since joining the school
Ms Payal Yadav is a homemaker and the mother of Apeejay Noida, class 1 student Aarush Yadav. Her husband Mr Akshar Yadav is an entrepreneur and the founder of the company Centronics Support. In an interview she shares her reasons for choosing the school, benefits of the online classes and her son’s progress at school. Edited excerpts:
Why did you choose Apeejay Noida over other schools for your child’s admission?
We chose Apeejay Noida since it is very close to our home. Secondly, the children of my neighbours were studying at Apeejay Noida. I got a very good review about the school from them. They heavily praised the skills of the teachers and also rated the ambience of the school highly. So that’s why we chose Apeejay Noida.
Please tell us about your child and take us through his progress at school?
Aarush is a happy child by nature. He loves to study Maths. He is really keen about it. He is just a class one student yet he knows the tables even for the numbers 8,9,10, 11 and 12. He knows addition, multiplication and subtraction and he practices it independently, with little to no help from me. He is also very good at English. His concepts of grammar are clear and his pronunciation is also very good. Apart from academics, he loves to paint, draw and dance. He is a little introverted by nature. So initially I faced a bit of a problem, as he did not interact much with the teachers.
Kajal ma’am, his class teacher encouraged him a lot. Slowly he opened up. Previously he wasn’t able to even speak a word in front of others but now he speaks confidently with his peers and teachers. I want to thank the teachers for that.
Are the teachers engaging well with the students?
Yes, hundred per cent. I really like their way of teaching. They go into the details of a concept and explain it to the students using various methods. They don’t give up on the student if he/she doesn’t understand the concept in one go. They explain again and again until the student gets it. The teaching style is really very nice. All his class teachers were very nice teachers. In Nursery Ms. Kajal Wadhwa ma’am was his class teacher. As I have mentioned, she encouraged him a lot. Ms Jyoti in Kindergarten taught him very well.
In class 1, Ms. Sushma Batla, made him understand the concepts in a subject. She always wanted that Aarush understands a concept instead of memorising it. I would also like to thank the computer teacher, Yoga teacher and the PT teacher of the school. They do a fine job.
What is the best thing about the school?
The way the teachers of Apeejay Noida engage with a student, their style of teaching, that’s very nice. The teachers take a lot of care of their students. I could see this in the online classes. It isn’t easy to take care of a child. The teachers are taking care of 35 children at one time and the kids are also studying happily. So the teachers really deserve to get an award for this (laughs). Their teaching skills, patience and style are the reasons which make me wish to keep Aarush in Apeejay Noida for many more years.
What is your perception about the online classes?
I prefer online classes over physical classes. The reason is that I can see what the child is learning and also how the teacher is teaching. So accordingly, I can help Aarush if there’s a problem. I can also teach him at home in a similar way in which his teacher teaches him.
Of course the physical interaction between students, with teachers that one finds in the physical classes is missed. But still, online classes have an upper hand over physical classes. Aarush is performing very well in the online classes.
