The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has concluded the application process for Class 12 verification of marks and re-evaluation of answer scripts. The application window remained open from June 2 to June 7, allowing eligible students to seek a review of their exam results.

According to CBSE, more than 1.6 lakh candidates submitted requests involving over 3.8 lakh answer books during the re-evaluation period. Only students who had earlier applied for photocopies of their answer books were eligible to proceed with the verification and re-evaluation stages.

The Board’s announcement comes amid students’ continued concerns about the post-result review process. Several candidates took to social media to report delays in receiving scanned copies of their answer sheets, which they need before applying for re-evaluation. In response, CBSE reiterated its commitment to maintaining a transparent and student-centric process and stated that it is addressing genuine grievances through official support channels.

While CBSE has not yet announced an official date for the declaration of revised results, they are expected to be released in July 2026, based on the Board’s previous timelines. Any changes in marks following the verification and re-evaluation process will appear in the updated score records issued to students.

The re-evaluation exercise follows a challenging exam season for the Board. The 2026 Class 12 results, declared on May 13, sparked widespread discussion after students reported unexpectedly low scores in key subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

The concerns were further linked to CBSE’s newly introduced On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, under which approximately 98.66 lakh answer sheets were digitally scanned and evaluated by over 70,000 examiners. Students reported issues like blurred scans, missing pages, and incomplete marking, which prompted calls for greater scrutiny and transparency in the evaluation process.
