For Vasu Sood, pursuing an MBA from Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar has been a transformative journey filled with learning, growth, and new opportunities. Currently specialising in Finance and Marketing, Vasu has not only strengthened his academic foundation but also developed key professional skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving. Recently securing placement offers from Berger Paints and Movidu Technologies, he reflects on his placement journey, faculty support, interview preparation, and aspirations for a successful corporate career.
How do you feel receiving the placement offer? What position have you been offered?
Receiving placement offers was a very exciting and satisfying moment for me. It felt like the hard work and efforts I put in finally paid off. I was fortunate to get selected by Berger Paints and Movidu Technologies, which made me feel even more motivated and confident. I was offered the role of Business Development at Movidu Technologies and Sales Associate at Berger Paints. It is a great feeling to start the next phase of my career with such opportunities.
How did you prepare for your placements?
For placements, I focused on consistent preparation and improving myself step by step. I mainly worked on improving my aptitude, communication skills, and interview skills. I practiced common interview questions, updated my resume properly, and also worked on speaking with confidence. Apart from academics, I tried to stay positive and consistent throughout the process. I believe staying disciplined and confident helped me during the placement process.
How did your teachers at Apeejay help you during the placement process?
The teachers at Apeejay supported me throughout the placement process. Through the PEP (Placement Enhancement Program), they guided me in interview preparation and shared valuable suggestions for improving my communication, aptitude, and presentation skills. They also motivated me whenever I faced challenges and helped me prepare through continuous practice and feedback sessions. Their encouragement and guidance played an important role in building my confidence and helping me approach interviews with a positive mindset.
Tips to crack a job interview
To crack a job interview, a person should prepare well about the company, the job role, and common interview questions. Dressing neatly, being confident, and speaking politely create a good first impression. It is important to answer honestly and clearly while maintaining eye contact with the interviewer. Good communication skills, positive body language, and a calm attitude help in building confidence during the interview. Lastly, showing interest in learning and having a positive attitude can leave a strong impression on the employer.

Your future aspirations
My future aspiration is to build a successful career where I can continuously learn, grow, and create a meaningful impact. I want to gain valuable industry experience, strengthen my skills, and take on new challenges that help me grow both personally and professionally. In the long run, I aspire to take on leadership roles where I can contribute to important decisions, inspire others, and play a key role in driving organizational success while continuing to evolve and learn throughout my journey.
