UGC-NET June 2026: NTA Eases Registration Process for Visually Impaired Candidates

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced a special facility for visually impaired candidates applying for the UGC-NET June 2026 examination. The initiative aims to support applicants who face difficulty uploading live photographs during the online registration process.

As part of the application procedure, candidates are required to capture and upload a live photograph through the registration portal. However, NTA noted that visually impaired applicants may encounter practical challenges while completing this step independently. To make the process more accessible, the agency has now allowed such candidates to submit their live photograph through email.

According to the official notification, visually impaired candidates who are unable to upload photographs through the portal can send their live photograph to the designated email ID, [email protected]. Along with the photograph, applicants must mention important details such as their application number, candidate name, and other required information.

The agency clarified that the special provision is applicable only to visually impaired candidates facing genuine difficulties during the registration process. Candidates have been advised to ensure that all submitted details are accurate to avoid complications in their application.

The online application process for UGC-NET June 2026 is currently underway and will continue till May 20, 2026. Applications can only be submitted through the official website, and no offline forms will be accepted by the agency.

In another important development, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has added Statistics as a new subject in the UGC-NET examination. With this inclusion, the total number of subjects offered under the examination has increased from 85 to 86.

As per the official schedule, the UGC-NET June 2026 examination will be conducted from June 22 to June 30 across various centres in the country. Candidates will also get an opportunity to make corrections in their submitted forms during the correction window, which will remain open from May 22 to May 24.

NTA has advised applicants to regularly visit the official UGC-NET website for updates, notifications, and examination-related announcements regarding the June 2026 session.
