Girik Subudhi, a student of class 12 at Apeejay School Nerul, plans to study MBBS. From nursery till now, he has grown tremendously, says his mother Prativa, a homemaker, not just in academics but his overall personality. That is exactly why she had chosen Apeejay for her son, she adds. In an interview, the mother shares how the school has fully lived up to her expectations. Edited excerpts:

Why did you opt for Apeejay Nerul?

We were looking for a CBSE school for Girik. That is when we heard about Apeejay Nerul from our acquaintances and went on to get him enrolled in the school.

Nursery to class 12, has the school lived up to your overall expectations?

Quality education is important during the foundational years for a bright future. Not just academics, the school took care to cultivate good habits, soft skills, etc in my child. Apeejay played a significant role in my child’s overall development. Enrolling my son in Apeejay proved to be the best decision because the school offered overall growth and personal care.

How has Girik progressed in all these years that he spent in school?

Girik is more responsible now. He is hardworking; he has shown tremendous growth academically. He stood second in his school in class 10 board exams. In terms of personality, Girik has developed a lot of confidence through various activities conducted in school. He was also part of the prefectorial board for three years where he picked up leadership skills. Teachers, of course, have supported and encouraged him throughout. Girik has a good circle of friends in school too who are all hardworking and motivated to do well in the future.

Can you tell us how the school helped build his self-confidence?

Apeejay offers so many opportunities for students to explore their talents and skills. Girik was helped a lot by the teachers during the pandemic as he was undergoing some mental stress. He was in class 10 at that time. With the help of the teachers, he regained confidence and did very well in the Board exams. The teachers provide such support to all the students.

Girik will soon be going to college. Do you think Apeejay prepares its students well for the journey ahead?

Absolutely, and I have to thank the teachers for that. My son is planning to appear for NEET for which the teachers have been constantly guiding and helping him.

How has your relationship with the teachers evolved over the years?

We have developed a personal relationship. I can contact them whenever required. All the teachers are very nice and cordial.
