The difference in academic outcomes often lies in how students manage their daily learning. Staying consistent, asking questions, and keeping a calm perspective during exams can quietly influence results. These choices tend to support steady and meaningful progress. These habits come through clearly in the way students describe their learning journeys and the small choices that shaped their year.
Meet three students from Apeejay School, Kharghar (academic year): Arjun Nikam, Mrunmayee Wankar, and Saanvi Pandit. In a candid interview, they share the strategies that led to their success.
For Mrunmayee, the realisation that her preparation was on track came after the second periodic test, especially in Math. The paper was quite lengthy, around 13 to 14 questions, and many classmates could not finish it on time.
“I was able to attempt all the questions, recheck my answers, and ended up scoring full marks, which gave me a lot of confidence. My teachers were very supportive and always helped whenever I had doubts. I did not make major changes to my study methods, but I increased the time I spent studying compared to Class VIII to manage the extra workload,” she said.
She also made sure to take regular breaks, which helped her stay focused. “On days I did not feel like studying, I would sit for 5 to 10 minutes to get started. Along with studies, I spent time on reading, writing, crocheting, and journalling to stay relaxed,” this now Class X student shared.
Looking back at this year, Saanvi felt most proud of her personal growth. “I became more disciplined, responsible, and consistent in my studies and daily routine. Instead of getting discouraged when topics felt difficult, I learnt to stay patient and keep trying. I also improved my time management and focused more on understanding concepts rather than just memorising,” she shared.
She followed a subject-wise approach, making pointwise notes for theory subjects, relating concepts to real-life examples, and practising worksheets for Math and Science. On days she felt unmotivated, she started with lighter tasks like reading or homework, which helped her gradually build focus.
“My teachers encouraged conceptual learning and better presentation, while classmates made learning more interactive through discussions. Overall, I learnt that consistency, discipline, and the right mindset matter more than just marks,” this now Class X student said in conclusion.
