The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the provisional answer key for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2026 shortly on its official website. However, the agency has not yet announced the exact date and time for its release, leaving thousands of candidates eagerly waiting to estimate their scores and prepare for the next stage of the selection process.

More than two weeks have passed since the conclusion of the UGC NET June 2026 examination, but the answer key is still awaited. Once released, candidates will be able to access the provisional answer key, their recorded responses, and the question papers by visiting the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in, using their application number and date of birth or password.

The UGC NET June 2026 exam was conducted between June 22-25, June 29 and 30, and July 5 at exam centres across the country. The exam is held to determine the eligibility of Indian candidates for the award of the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD programmes in universities and colleges across India.

After the provisional answer key is published, the NTA will open a challenge window, allowing candidates to raise objections if they find discrepancies in any answer. To submit a challenge, candidates must provide valid supporting documents and pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 200 per question challenged.

According to the official process, the objection window will remain open for approximately two to three days. Subject experts will review all the challenges received, and if any objection is found to be valid, the answer key will be revised accordingly. The final answer key will then be published, following which the UGC NET June 2026 results will be declared.

Candidates are advised to regularly monitor the official UGC NET website for updates regarding the answer key, objection window, and result announcement. The provisional answer key is an important step in the exam process, enabling candidates to assess their performance before the declaration of the final results.
