Reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and the well-being of its academic community, Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, installed an Air Quality Index (AQI) Monitoring Device on campus to ensure real-time monitoring of air quality and promote a healthier learning environment.

The initiative reflects the institute’s continued emphasis on environmental conservation and creating a safe, eco-friendly atmosphere for students, faculty, and staff. Recognising that a healthy educational environment begins with access to clean and safe air, the institute has taken a proactive step to monitor environmental conditions more effectively.

The newly installed device enables real-time tracking of air quality levels, allowing the institution to regularly assess environmental conditions and maintain a cleaner, healthier campus ecosystem. The move is expected to further strengthen the institute’s green initiatives and support awareness regarding environmental responsibility among students and stakeholders.

Sharing his thoughts on the initiative, Director Dr. Rajesh Bagga highlighted the encouraging outcomes of the institute’s long-standing environmental efforts.

“What makes this initiative even more encouraging is that the AQI reading on campus has consistently remained 25, reflecting the positive impact of the lush greenery and extensive plantation efforts undertaken across the campus over the years. The verdant surroundings not only enhance the beauty of the campus but also contribute significantly to cleaner, fresher air,” he said.

Dr. Bagga further emphasised that maintaining a healthy campus environment has remained a priority for the institution. He noted that while many urban areas continue to struggle with increasing pollution levels and deteriorating air quality, the AIMETC campus has managed to sustain healthy environmental conditions due to dedicated plantation drives and conservation measures.

“While cities struggle with rising pollution levels and poor AQI, our campus continues to breathe easy—thanks to years of dedicated plantation and environmental conservation efforts,” Dr. Bagga added.

Over the years, AIMETC has consistently undertaken plantation campaigns and sustainability-focused initiatives to preserve green cover and improve ecological balance within the campus. The presence of dense greenery and landscaped surroundings has played a vital role in creating an environment that supports both physical well-being and academic productivity.

The installation of the AQI monitoring device marks another significant step in the institute’s sustainability journey. Beyond measuring air quality, the initiative also seeks to foster greater environmental awareness among students and encourage responsible practices toward nature conservation.

By integrating sustainability with education, AIMETC continues to demonstrate its vision of creating a campus where learning flourishes amidst nature, ensuring that students experience not only academic excellence but also a healthier and greener environment.
