For Medha, ambition, discipline, and consistency have been the driving forces behind her successful placement journey at the Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC). Securing a position as Senior Executive – Experiential Strategy and Concepts at Communique Marketing Solutions, she believes hard work and persistence eventually pay off. Coming from a different academic background, Medha credits AIMC and its faculty for helping her grow academically, professionally, and confidently. Read edited excerpts:
Where did you get places, which position? How did you prepare for the placement process ?
I got placed at Communique Marketing Solutions as a Senior Executive in Experiential Strategy and Concepts. Preparing for placements took a lot of discipline and consistency. I spent time studying case studies, reading newspapers regularly, and solving creative and strategic briefs to improve my conceptual clarity. I stayed focused, pushed myself to learn every day, and really locked in during the process.
How did Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication and faculty members help you to prepare for the placement rounds?
Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication and its faculty played a huge role in shaping my understanding of marketing. Since I came from a completely different background, the institution became a strong support system for me. The professors were incredibly understanding, encouraging, and approachable throughout the journey. Their mentorship genuinely helped me grow, both academically and professionally.
What kind of skills do you think are important to crack the placement with ease?
For me, consistency made the biggest difference. Staying regular with lectures and building a strong understanding of concepts really helped. I also believe that reading beyond textbooks is important. Keeping yourself updated with news, trends, and what’s happening in the industry gives you a much broader perspective. Curiosity and awareness go a long way.
Tips for those who are preparing for placement?
I would definitely recommend developing the habit of reading and understanding things deeply instead of just memorising them. I’d also suggest practicing communication and speaking as much as possible. Even casual practice helps build confidence, and confidence can completely change the way you present yourself in interviews.
How did you stay motivated and consistent during the placement season?
I think consistency matters more than motivation. Motivation comes and goes, but discipline is what keeps you moving. During placement season, I simply reminded myself why I started and continued showing up every single day, even when it felt exhausting.
What are your future aspirations
Right now, I’m still learning, and I genuinely enjoy building ideas and seeing them come to life in the real world. In the future, I’d love to create and build a brand of my own someday. That’s definitely something I aspire to do.
