Value education becomes more meaningful when it moves beyond instruction and enters classroom practice. With this focus, a two-day workshop on the Awakened Citizen Program (ACP) Year III was attended by Ms Gauri Jain from Apeejay School, Sector 15, in Faridabad. The workshop placed responsible citizenship, experiential learning, and classroom application at the centre of its sessions.

The ACP is built around the idea that students learn values better when they are encouraged to think, reflect, and connect ideas with real situations. The workshop followed this approach through interactive sessions, demonstrations, and group discussions. These activities helped participants explore how value education can be made more practical and relatable for students.

For teachers, such workshops carry a clear purpose. They offer space to reflect on classroom methods and understand how values can be woven into regular teaching without making them feel separate from learning. Ms Jain’s participation reflected the school’s continued focus on strengthening classroom practices through thoughtful training.

The sessions encouraged collaboration and communication among participants. Group discussions helped teachers share perspectives and understand different ways of handling classroom situations. Demonstrations added a practical layer, allowing participants to see how concepts could be introduced with clarity and purpose.

A key part of the workshop was its focus on responsible citizenship. The activities helped deepen understanding of how students can be guided to become more aware, thoughtful, and responsible in their actions. This becomes important in school education because citizenship is not learnt only through lessons. It is shaped through everyday choices, classroom behaviour, and the way children respond to people around them.

The workshop also supported curriculum implementation for Year III. It helped teachers understand how guided activities can make value-based learning more effective.

Such training programmes add depth to teaching. They help educators return to the classroom with clearer methods and a stronger sense of purpose.
