Recently, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, hosted CRUX MUN, a two-day conference that brought together students from over 25 schools. With nearly 400 participants, the event created a platform for structured debate, negotiation, and policy discussion. The conference reflected a growing interest among students in understanding global systems and civic processes through simulation.

The event was organised across eight committees, each designed to mirror real-world institutions. Students engaged with forums like UNICEF, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Lok Sabha, and the White House Situation Room. These settings allowed participants to explore issues shaped by current geopolitical realities while building a deeper understanding of international cooperation and governance.

Guided by the theme Acta Non Verba (Deeds, Not Words), which emphasises action over words, the conference focused on translating ideas into structured arguments and resolutions. Delegates worked through complex topics, balancing differing perspectives and negotiating outcomes. The format encouraged critical thinking, research-based discussion, and collaborative problem-solving.

The presence of Shri Ardra Vamsi, IAS, added a layer of real-world insight to the proceedings. His facilitation helped ground discussions in administrative realities, offering students a clearer view of how policies evolve beyond theoretical debate.

The conference concluded with recognition of outstanding performances across committees. Amity School, Saket, was awarded Best Delegation, acknowledging consistent participation and effective representation.

What this event reflects is a shift in how students approach learning beyond classrooms. Platforms like CRUX MUN give them space to test ideas, listen to opposing views, and build confidence in public discourse.

Over time, such experiences can shape more informed, thoughtful individuals who are better prepared to engage with complex global challenges.
