A Parent Orientation Session for Class IX was organised to acquaint parents with the significant changes being introduced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for the academic session 2026-27. The session aimed to provide parents with a comprehensive understanding of the evolving curriculum framework and assessment practices, while also guiding them on how they can effectively support their children through this transition.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the parents, followed by an insightful address by the school Principal, Mrs Veena Goel, who chaired the session. Highlighting the changing landscape of education, she spoke about the shift from marks-oriented learning to a more mastery-oriented and competency-based approach. She emphasized that education today is not merely about academic scores, but about nurturing critical thinking, conceptual clarity, creativity, and emotional resilience among students.

The Principal reiterated the importance of strong collaboration between parents and teachers in ensuring students’ smooth adaptation to these changes. She encouraged parents to remain actively involved in their children’s educational journey by maintaining open communication with the school and by supporting the mental and emotional well-being of their wards. Stressing the role of a positive home environment, she shared that a balanced partnership between school and parents is essential in helping students thrive in a dynamic and evolving academic environment.

The Vice-rincipal, Dr Renuka Kamal, further familiarised the parents with the newly introduced features of the Class IX curriculum for the session 2026-27. Through a detailed presentation, she explained the revised content structure, innovative pedagogical practices, and competency-based assessment methods introduced by CBSE. She elaborated on how these reforms are designed to make learning more holistic, experiential, and aligned with the needs of the 21st century.

Parents were also informed about the school’s continuous efforts to support students through this transition by integrating engaging classroom practices and providing academic guidance wherever required. The school assured parents that additional updates and detailed guidelines regarding the implementation of the new system would be shared regularly.

The session concluded on a highly positive and collaborative note, with parents expressing appreciation for the school’s proactive initiative in keeping them informed and involved. The orientation served as a meaningful platform for strengthening the partnership between the school and parents, reaffirming the shared commitment towards the holistic growth and success of every student.
