Van Mahotsav and PTM foster environmental awareness and strong school-parent partnership
Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, celebrates nature through a plantation drive, student performances and meaningful parent engagement.
In conjunction with its Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM), Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, celebrated Van Mahotsav bringing together environmental stewardship and academic collaboration in a meaningful and engaging manner. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, parents and staff members, reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible and environmentally conscious citizens.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome for the chief guest, Ms Ritu Sangwan, Scientific Officer and a distinguished alumna of the school. She was felicitated by the school Principal, Dr Vineet Vasishtha, who welcomed her back to her alma mater and highlighted the importance of collective efforts towards sustainable development.
The celebration began with a plantation drive led by the Principal and the chief guest, who planted saplings on the school campus as a symbol of hope, growth and environmental responsibility. The initiative encouraged students and parents alike to embrace eco-friendly practices and contribute towards building a greener future.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Vasishtha emphasised that every tree planted today is an investment in the well-being of future generations. He urged students and parents to make environmental conservation a way of life by adopting sustainable habits and participating actively in tree plantation initiatives.

Adding a creative touch to the event, students staged a thought-provoking Nukkad Natak depicting the adverse effects of deforestation, pollution and climate change. Their energetic performance delivered a compelling message on the need to protect natural resources and inspired the audience to take meaningful action. Students also delivered insightful speeches highlighting the significance of biodiversity, sustainable living and individual responsibility in preserving the environment.
Following the Van Mahotsav celebration, the school conducted the Parent-Teacher Meeting, where teachers interacted individually with parents to discuss students’ academic progress, attendance, discipline and overall personality development. Constructive feedback and practical suggestions were shared to support each child’s continuous growth and learning journey.
Parents appreciated the school’s holistic approach to education, which integrates academic excellence with environmental awareness and value-based learning. The event concluded with a collective pledge to protect nature and work together for a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future, leaving participants inspired to contribute positively to society.
