To nurture global awareness and leadership among young learners, Apeejay School, Faridabad hosted an engaging orientation session for AISMUN X. Conducted by the AISMUN X Secretariat, the session introduced students of Classes IV and V to the world of Model United Nations, encouraging them to think beyond classrooms and become responsible global citizens.

The orientation familiarised students with the purpose and functioning of the United Nations and its specialised agencies, with a special focus on UNICEF. Through interactive discussions and age-appropriate explanations, the young participants gained valuable insights into how international organisations work together to address pressing global challenges and promote peace, equality and sustainable development.

A key highlight of the session was the discussion on the agenda for the upcoming AISMUN X conference: bridging gaps in access to safe and inclusive education for children in crisis-affected areas. Students explored the importance of ensuring quality education for every child, regardless of circumstances such as conflict, displacement, or natural disasters. The topic encouraged them to empathise with children facing adversity and reflect on the role they can play in building a more inclusive and compassionate world.

The secretariat members also explained the format of a Model United Nations conference, introducing students to concepts such as diplomacy, dialogue, collaboration and consensus-building. The participants learned how delegates research global issues, represent different countries, present viewpoints, and work collectively to propose meaningful solutions.

The session witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students asking thoughtful questions and sharing their perspectives on education, equality and humanitarian support. Their curiosity and eagerness to understand complex global issues reflected the spirit of inquiry and critical thinking that AISMUN seeks to cultivate.

The orientation concluded on an inspiring note, motivating students to prepare for the upcoming AISMUN X conference with confidence and purpose. By encouraging young minds to engage with real-world challenges through discussion and collaboration, the school’s continues to empower students with the knowledge, empathy, and leadership skills needed to become thoughtful changemakers in an increasingly interconnected world.
