Friendship Day became a joyful occasion for the young learners of Apeejay School, Noida, as students of Classes I and II took part in creative card-making activities. The celebrations gave them a simple yet meaningful way to express affection, gratitude and care for their friends. They also turned the classroom into a warm space where creativity and friendship could grow together.
Creativity takes centre stage
The children of Class I enthusiastically created handmade cards using their imagination and artistic skills. Each card reflected their individual ideas and the warmth they felt for their classmates. As they worked with colours and designs, the activity also gave them an opportunity to practise fine motor skills and self-expression.
The joy visible on their faces made the session lively and memorable. More than an art activity, it helped the children understand how small gestures can make friendships feel special.

Messages filled with warmth
Meanwhile, the students of Class II celebrated the day by designing colourful and vibrant cards for their friends, decorating them with creative drawings, heartfelt messages and bright shades.
Through their cards, the students expressed love, kindness and gratitude. The process allowed them to think about what friendship means and how care can be shown through thoughtful words and actions.
Learning through celebration
Both activities placed important values at the centre of the celebration. Children learnt about kindness, sharing, respect and appreciation while enjoying the freedom to create something of their own.

The card-making sessions also strengthened friendships within the classroom. By preparing something personal for a friend, the young learners experienced the happiness that comes from giving and saw how sincere appreciation can bring people closer.
The Friendship Day celebration brought creativity and values together in a way that was easy for the children to understand. It left them with cheerful memories while reinforcing the importance of caring for and respecting one another.
