Climate change is no longer a distant concern discussed only in policy rooms. It is now closely tied to questions of fairness, responsibility, and community action. With this larger context in mind, three students of the Interact Club of Apeejay School, Saket, recently attended the Intercontinental Climate Change and Social Justice Conference online.
The conference brought together voices from different parts of the world to discuss how environmental challenges affect societies in unequal ways. For the students, the session offered a chance to listen, reflect, and participate in a discussion that connected climate action with social justice. Their participation made the experience both meaningful and engaging.
The key speakers at the conference included Andrea LaCroix, an environmental expert; Kanika Pal, CSR and Sustainability leader from India; Nursun Doğru, LEED expert from Turkey; and Şafak Özsoy, Founder of Tulip Sustainability Center, Turkey.
Each speaker brought a distinct perspective to the conversation, helping students understand the issue beyond a single country or community.
The discussion encouraged participants to look at climate change not only as an environmental concern but also as a human one. For students involved in the Interact Club, this connection was especially relevant, since the club itself works around service, awareness, and community engagement.

The session also gave the students valuable global insights. Listening to experts from the USA, India, and Turkey allowed them to understand how sustainability efforts are shaped by local realities, professional experience, and civic responsibility.
The speakers inspired and motivated the participants to continue their initiatives for the community. Their words reinforced the idea that small, consistent efforts can become part of a larger movement when guided by purpose and responsibility.
For Apeejay School, Saket, the participation of its students in such a global forum reflects the growing importance of student voices in conversations around climate and society.
