The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) for the June 2024 session is now open for registrations, announced UGC Chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar. The application process is set to commence today, with the National Testing Agency (NTA) expected to release the information bulletin by Saturday morning. Scheduled to run from June 10 to 21, the UGC NET June 2024 exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across various shifts.

A significant update for prospective candidates is the eligibility criteria extension to students pursuing a four-year bachelor’s degree, allowing those in their final semester or year to apply for UGC-NET. This change enables candidates to choose a subject for PhD studies regardless of their undergraduate discipline. The exam itself comprises two papers, each featuring objective-type multiple-choice questions, with candidates allotted a total of three hours to complete both papers, containing a combined total of 150 questions.

To apply, candidates should visit the official UGC NET website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in, and follow a straightforward step-by-step process. They must register, fill out the application form accurately, pay the necessary fee, and submit the completed form. It’s advisable for candidates to save a copy of the application for future reference. After the registration window closes, applicants will have the opportunity to make corrections to their particulars online.

More details regarding the exam centre cities and other relevant information will be communicated post-registration. The CBT mode ensures flexibility and efficiency in conducting the exam, accommodating multiple shifts to cater to a large number of candidates.
