JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Result: Experts share expected qualifying percentiles

The National Testing Agency is expected to release the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 results shortly, bringing relief and clarity to more than 11 lakh engineering aspirants across the country. Alongside the scorecards, the final answer key and category wise qualifying cut offs for JEE Advanced are also likely to be announced.

While the official cut off has not yet been declared, early estimates based on previous trends and exam difficulty suggest a competitive threshold. For candidates in the general category, the qualifying percentile is expected to fall in the mid-90s range.

For OBC and EWS categories, projections indicate a slightly lower range, while the cut offs for SC and ST candidates are likely to be significantly lower, in line with reservation norms.

Experts note that these projections remain indicative and can shift depending on factors such as the number of candidates, paper difficulty across sessions, and overall performance levels. The NTA uses a normalised percentile system to account for variations in difficulty across different shifts, ensuring fairness in ranking.

The result will include key details such as percentile scores, subject wise performance, and All India Rank. Candidates will be able to access their scorecards on the official website using their application credentials. Once released, the scorecards will be final, as the examination authority does not permit re-evaluation or rechecking.

Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates across categories will qualify for JEE Advanced, the next stage for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology. For many students, the upcoming result will play a decisive role in shaping their academic path.
