Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Model Town, Jalandhar , organised a special ‘Vidya Aagam’ ceremony for the tiny tots of Nursery and Pre-Nursery, marking their formal introduction to the world of learning. The event was designed to familiarise the young learners with alphabets and the broader journey of education, while also celebrating the cultural and spiritual significance associated with the beginning of knowledge.

The ceremony began on an auspicious note with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolising the removal of darkness and the arrival of knowledge and wisdom. The warm and joyful atmosphere reflected the excitement of both parents and children as they gathered to celebrate this meaningful milestone in the little learners’ lives.

One of the most significant moments of the ceremony was when the toddlers were guided to write ‘Om’ or ‘Ek Onkar’ on grains, depending on their faith, with the loving support of their parents. This ritual is traditionally associated with the initiation of education and is believed to symbolise the first step toward gaining knowledge. The activity also allowed parents to actively participate in their child’s educational journey, making the moment even more memorable.

Parents expressed their happiness and pride by garlanding their children and applying ‘tilak’ on their foreheads, blessing them for a bright and successful future in academics. The presence of parents added warmth and emotional value to the event, turning the ceremony into a cherished family occasion.

The programme also included beautiful cultural performances that enhanced the spiritual and celebratory mood of the ceremony. Students from the Senior Wing presented a soulful rendition of Saraswati Vandana, seeking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge and wisdom. The audience was further captivated by a graceful Ganesh Vandana performance by Ruhani and Mehreen of Class UKG, which added charm and devotion to the occasion.

The philosophy behind the ceremony reflects the vision of  Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, Apeejay Education, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group and Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University,  who has always believed that writing on grains symbolises the beginning of a child’s quest for knowledge and learning.

Addressing the gathering, School Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar Chandel spoke about the cultural and educational importance of the Vidya Aagam ceremony. He explained to parents that the ritual represents a child’s first formal step into the world of education and encourages young learners to value knowledge from an early age.

The event was also graced by School In-Charge of Apeejay Rhythms, Mrs. Nidhi Ghai, along with dedicated teachers who played a vital role in organising the ceremony and guiding the children throughout the programme.

The Vidya Aagam ceremony concluded on a joyful and inspiring note, leaving parents and children with beautiful memories of the day. The event successfully celebrated the spirit of learning while reinforcing the school’s commitment to nurturing young minds with values, traditions, and knowledge.
