Her sons Divit and Divyansh are at present in Class XII at Apeejay School, PItampura, and have been studying here from the beginning. The school’s study-orientated approach, great reputation, and proximity made this family choose this school. The fact that Apeejay Schools also pay a lot of attention to the overall well-being of the children was an added bonus.

Meet Kiran Gupta, who in a candid interview, talks about the role of the school in shaping who her sons are today.

How has their learning journey been?

Their learning journey has been a good learning process. They have learnt a lot in the school and have overcome all the hurdles. Teachers pay close attention to what children require and the areas where they need improvement. They have improved a lot with time.

The school emphases discipline and moral values. How have your children fared here?

They are more responsible and disciplined now. They know how to behave both outside and in school. They may have made a few mistakes, but with time they understood the importance of discipline in life. They have learnt how to handle situations. Problems will come, but you have to deal with them. That is what they have understood.

What stream have they chosen and what are their plans?

They have taken Commerce with Math and they plan to pursue law. The teachers are very supportive and encouraging. They clear all their doubts and are even available on the phone when needed. They also provide extra classes for students who require help. There is a lot of cooperation from the teachers. They always provide support and never ask students to manage on their own.

The school also focuses on co-curricular activities. How has that experience been for your children?

My children performed very well in the annual day and even had main roles. They are School Prefects and are doing well in different areas. This has happened because teachers identified their potential over time. Once they were recognised, they developed further and felt more responsible. With time, they have really evolved.

The role of the teachers in honing their talent.

The teachers played a major role in recognising and developing their abilities. Overall, my experience has been very good, excellent.

Parents often struggle with screen time. How do you manage it?

Screen use has become a natural part of learning today. Most homework, assignments, and communication are handled through mobile devices, especially after the shift during the lockdown. Even the parent app and study materials are accessible on phones, making them an essential tool for students. While schools are moving towards a paperless approach, it also means children are more engaged with digital platforms as part of their daily academic routine. Hence, a balance is a must.
