Apeejay’s IB School hosts University Fair 2026

Apeejay’s IB School, Apeejay School International, Panchsheel Park, hosted its much-awaited University Fair on 7 August 2026, providing students with an enriching opportunity to explore higher education pathways and engage directly with representatives from leading universities and institutions from India and across the globe. The fair commenced at 10:30 am on the fourth floor of the school premises and was specially curated for students of MYP 3, MYP 4, MYP 5, DP 1 and DP 2.

Under the guidance and leadership of Mr Stephen James Tumpane, Principal-cum-Director, Research and Capability Development, and Ms Neha Sharma, Vice Principal, the event was organised successfully, reflecting the school’s commitment to providing students with meaningful opportunities for learning, creativity, and holistic development. 

Reflecting the ethos of the IB Programme, the fair was designed to encourage students to take ownership of their academic journeys, explore possibilities aligned with their interests and strengths, and develop a deeper understanding of the choices available to them beyond school. Rather than simply presenting university options, the event created a space for students to ask questions, engage in meaningful conversations and begin envisioning their future pathways.

The fair brought together representatives from a diverse range of universities and higher education institutions, offering students exposure to programmes spanning disciplines, geographies and career possibilities. Participating institutions included Troy University, University of Applied Sciences, EUAS, The University of Western Australia, and some more Indian Universities.

The presence of institutions representing different countries and academic systems added a valuable global dimension to the experience. Students had the opportunity to understand how higher education varies across destinations and what they should consider while evaluating universities, courses and programmes.

University representatives interacted with students through one-on-one conversations, counselling sessions and informal discussions, addressing individual queries and helping learners understand the academic and professional opportunities associated with different programmes. They shared insights into course structures, areas of specialisation, admission requirements and the kinds of skills and interests that can help students make suitable academic choices.

For IB learners, such interactions are particularly meaningful as they encourage them to look beyond conventional notions of academic success and consider pathways that complement their individual interests, learner profiles and long-term aspirations. Students were encouraged to reflect on questions such as what they enjoy learning, which disciplines resonate with them, what kind of university environment they seek, and how their present subject choices can connect with their future goals.

The fair also offered students a more practical understanding of the transition from school to university. Through direct conversations with university representatives, learners could clarify their doubts, compare programmes and gain a clearer perspective on the factors that should inform their decision-making. The interactive nature of the event enabled students to move from passive information gathering to active exploration.

Adding to the vibrancy of the fair, university representatives also distributed goodies and information material, making the experience engaging and memorable for students. The school extended warm hospitality to the participating representatives, with refreshments served to all university delegates as the event drew towards its conclusion.

Ms Priyanka Malhotra, representing the University of Western Australia (UWA), shared that the Group of Eight universities with pilot campuses in Chennai and Mumbai. It offers programmes in engineering, commerce, and arts, with scholarships of up to 40% for students with strong academic records.  Students can pursue one semester abroad, while those studying in Australia can explore post-study work and PR pathways, subject to prevailing regulations. UWA welcomes students from CBSE, Cambridge A-Levels, and IB backgrounds, with strong academics, particularly in Mathematics, being an important eligibility criterion.

The University Fair ultimately served as more than a conventional college exhibition. It became an important career and university exploration experience, empowering students to make informed choices and encouraging them to view higher education as a journey shaped by curiosity, purpose and personal aspirations.

As the event concluded, students appeared enthusiastic and satisfied with the exposure they had received. The conversations, interactions and insights gathered during the day gave them valuable perspectives to take forward as they continue planning their academic futures.
